Fix ARK Server Not Showing in Unofficial Session List

Problem Overview

The server starts successfully, but players cannot find it in the in-game session list.

Common Symptoms

  • Server status shows active in Manager, but search returns 0 results in-game
  • Direct IP join (`open IP:7777`) times out

Likely Causes

  • Port 7777 (Game Port) or 27015 (Query Port) blocked in Windows Firewall or router
  • Router missing Port Forwarding rules for UDP protocol
  • Crossplay setting disabled or mismatched multithreading arguments

Verified Step-by-Step Solution

1

Open Windows Defender Firewall -> Advanced Settings -> Inbound Rules.

2

Create a New Rule: Port -> UDP -> Specific Ports: 7777, 7778, 27015 -> Allow the Connection.

3

Log into your router admin panel (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).

4

Add Port Forwarding rule for your local host IP (e.g. 192.168.1.50) for UDP ports 7777, 7778, 27015.

5

Restart server via ARK Server Manager.

How to Verify the Fix Works

  • Use an online port checker or ARK Server Manager built-in Port Checker tool.
  • Search server name in-game under Unofficial Session Filter.
